Balance
Is this you?
- "I rarely get home much before the children are asleep."
- "I suppose I am sacrificing my home life for my career
right now."
- "I often get delayed unexpectedly. This causes friction
at home."
- "I manage to get all my work done by 5.30 each day."
What could you ask your coach?
- "How can I get a better balance?"
- "I love my work; I'd like to work longer hours. How
can I do this as well as supporting my family properly?"
- "How can I create more balance without jeopardising
my career?"
- "Should I work more from home?"
Do you agree with this?
Striking the right balance is very subjective. It can depend
on so many things - your age, the nature of your work, your commitments
to family, and many others.
It has much to do with your use of time, which in turn depends
on your goals and personal values.
It doesn't mean doing just a little of everything, or spending
an equal time here and there.
It does mean deciding exactly what you want, and then purposefully
going for it in a way that doesn't cause you or those you care
for stress or anxiety.
I can help you to:
Determine what you really want to be spending your time on.
Look at all the essentials such as health, relationships, career,
and recreation, and work with you on what you need to do to give
full and sufficient attention to each, on a consistent basis.
Learn to say 'No' to other demands on your time.
